Here's where is all began!

I started with 40 feet of 2x3 3/16th wall tubing and several
pieces of 3/8" and 1/4" plate stock. I used about 28 feet of
the tubing, luckly I didn't make any bad cuts. Most of the
bracketswere cut using an electric die grinder and thin cut-
off wheels then smoothed and shaped with a 20" sanding wheel.
A couple of the brackets were cut out with a torch then they
were smoothed. The frame is now done, less the rear suspension
bracketry.
I am using a Currie polished aluminum Ford 9" and will arrive
with shock and radius rod hangers installed. I'll have to
locate the rearend in the car by building the frame brackets.
I finished the motor mounts and will be TIG welded.
The frame is done!
On Another Note...

| I built my teardrop trailer winter and spring of 2000. The frame is 2 by 2 .095 wall square tubing. The rest is plywood and some nice woods. It sleeps Mary and I very comfortably on a 46 by 80 by 4 inch dense foam mattress. It has a two burner stove, auto glass side windows, two glass cabinate doors, a roller glide drawer, two lift struts, 1941 Chevie taillights, concealed wiring and the whole thing weighs 640 pounds. |
