Once you’ve completed this step on both tires you’re ready to make your long marks on the tape in front of each wheel. In the next pic you will see that my 6’ level lying across the front is not quite long enough to reach outside the width of my tires. In this case a chalk line would have been better for getting the lines past the outside face of each tire. You want to make sure that each mark is running parallel to the front tread of the tire and that it extends past the outside face surface of the sidewall.
