Now you’re ready to start measuring the string and find out if you’re toed in or out and by how much!

Blanca helped me in the following pic, taking the 2’ mark measurement. You will see that she placed the carpenter’s square against the INSIDE face of the string. You can measure from the outside of the string just as well, it doesn’t matter. What matters is that you measure both L. and R. strings on the same face, either both inside or both outside!! In this older pic, to follow, I hadn’t begun to use tape so there is none extending past the string.
