Since you brought this up in our public forum Rolla, I need to set the record straight. I cannot stand by while you make me out to be the villain. You keep saying “FULL CONTROL” when it is far from the truth sir! To do this I will need to layout the complete story, backed up by email from the board members, including yourself.

The board came to me thru Lee Metcalfe and asked me about taking over the website. Without any guidance from the board, I took it upon myself to prepare a 5 page report that everyone could review and comment on. I wanted my intentions to be upfront before any changes were made.

You will notice that the report went to all the board members for comments after review by Lee and myself. Report with our comments (Lee and I) is attached at the bottom of this post.

After the board read my report, did I get their support ??? Read their emails below.

YES, ALL FIVE BOARD MEMBERS GAVE ME THE GO AHEAD !

We got as far along in the process of moving to the new Xenforo software as figuring out how the purchasing would take place. Lee wanted to send me the credit card info so I could make the purchases directly, but was concerned about the security of the information during transit.

I was going to need info that only Jan knew to start the move, so that’s when Lee notified her of the change. The board did not tell her in advance and then were surprised when she felt blind-sided. Can’t say I blame her, but her comment below (In Green) made it obvious that she didn’t like the Xenforo software. If I was going to be leading the change, it was going to be to Xenforo.

NOTE: Read the email chain below starting at the bottom.

So you see Rolla, I never once said/indicated/hid meaning between the lines, that I wanted full control, I always consulted the board with my ideas !!! YOU GOT THE REPORT SIR !!!

You mistakenly took my decision to step away when the board threw me under the bus and wanted me to work with Jan using the same old software. I could NOT continue to do the same old thing, getting the same old results !!! ..... I will not !!!

Not ONCE has the board said sorry or wish we would have done things differently by you ……. Just total silence !!!

Even when I tried in the private section of the forum a few days ago to get the board to do something with our present software to improve the number of bots that crawl this site and also asked the question why we don’t have a similar number of Guests as other sites. All I got was your comment ….

“Rick, if you are expecting FULl control as you have told me twice now, my vote is NO! The only reason The Other surer is even up and running is thanks to our Webmistress Jan.”

Just think what would happen if we had 89 guests looking at the NTBA site, just like the TBucketeers site. Can’t Jan do something with our present software. Why am I always met with a Negative response, I just don't get it guys !!!

I can’t say what’s in Jan’s heart, it may be pure gold, but there is an appearance of a "Conflict of Interest" since she is administering two TBucket websites. The TBucketeer.com site that she had to pay $2000 for and the NTBA site, so why would she be motivated to increase traffic here when it might take away from the TBucketeer site.

BTW, she was NOT the only one trying to save the TBucketeer site as you make it sound like above.

Comments Please Anyone ???

Rick
Your last report on Lee’s post to Jan is almost two years old. We looked at it after that and decided to make improvements on the present website with Jan.
Your comments about what you said here and what was said in the parking lot in New Hampshire to me and Rolla seem to vary. Besides, why do we owe you an apology for turning down your proposal? After looking at it we decided to go a different route. End of story.
This is the second time we’ve turned down your proposals and your still hammering on the door. We are not going to completely revamp the website, but will gladly accept members ideas and contributions on improving the existing operation. From your statement, “you will not participate in doing this.”
As per Jan running the NTBA and Tbuckteers, her and I discussed running the two sites together and sharing information before she bought it. Remember TBucketeers is a forum and the NTBA is an active moving club. How can it be a conflict of interest?
We wish you the best in your other adventures.

When you say things like in your email above and quoted below, What did this mean?

"So, all sounds good to me to move forward, I’m in."

Why would you be giving me credit card details if you had not accepted. Everything pointed to moving forward until Jan was told and then the board did an "About Face".
