Nothing says "101 Fun Run" like the Pacific ocean.

Hi everyone,

Well it’s almost that time again, time for the 8th annual 101 fun run. It looks like we will have approximately 25 t-buckets on Saturday and maybe more at Cruisn Grand. SO-CAL T’s is having our final meeting on Saturday to finalize the Friday and Saturday activities on August 3rd & 4th. So be looking in your e-mail for the Itinerary on Sunday June 15th. We may have a special tour planned on Friday before Crusin Grand so be watching for the updates. SO-CAL T’s is looking forward to having you all here and we plan on making sure you have a fun time. That’s why we call it the 101 FUN RUN.

AUGUST 3rd and AUGUST 4th make sure you mark your calendars!!!!!!!

We had our last fun run meeting last Saturday and we finalized the two day event for this year’s 8th Annual 101 Fun Run. You are in for a great surprise this year. The fun run committee has put a lot of effort into this years event.

On Friday we have a special cruise to Bates Nut Farm in Valley Center. We will start at Moonlight Beach in Encinitas and cruise north on Highway 101 then east to Bates Nut Farm, History: In 1921, Gilbert and Beatrice Bates moved their nutty family to the beautiful, picturesque oak filled valley of Valley Center, where they purchased the Walnut Slope Ranch. They raised their family of 5 boys, complete with geese, ducks, goats, horses, rabbits, sheep, tractor, plows and all sorts of old fashioned farm things. Little did Gilbert know that 80 years later his family farm would provide joy and pleasure for 5 generations of his family, but also for the thousands of visitors from around the world that make that special trip to the Bates farm each year. http://www.batesnutfarm.biz/ Once there you will be treated to a free lunch by SO-CAL T’s under the huge shaded trees at the farm. After we finish at Bates Nut Farm we drive 15 minutes to Crusin Grand in Escondido for a really good car show and cruise.

Saturday We meet at Moonlight Beach again then cruise south on Highway 101 to the Embarcadero Marine North at the San Diego Bay. (Seaport Village) We will again provide a free photograph of you and your car overlooking a beautiful view of the harbor. We will have a 50/50 raffle, shopping for the ladies and unusual trophies. Trophies again made by Jeff Hall from SO-CAL T’s.

We look forward to seeing you all here on both days as you don’t want to miss either day. T-shirts and dash plaques will be handed out on Saturday Morning.

Tomorrow I will send everyone a more detailed Agenda with all the times and address and a map to Moonlight Beach.

It was my first and only 101 run in 2010....You want some photos of your car and in looking through photos this morning I found a couple.........

If I remember right the motor had some issues shortly after these photos were taken?.......

This was a great run and I am sure Dennis & the So-Cal crew will do another great one this year........

Mike,

Thanks for the pictures and your memory is quite good. The Bash, Nats, and Fred's each year, no problems. The 101 Fun Run has been my nemesis each year. That year lost two cylinders on the same bank, 2011 my radiator did a swiss cheese number, but for 2012 I expect no drama. Fingers crossed.
