Hey, I'm still here lurking too. Use to always post daily pics, but with not going to Nats this past year I stepped back to let others post. Honestly I've been enjoying the break of not worrying about posting everyday.

Yes I'm one of the Facebook posters, but that's only tidbits from my phone. This site isn't very phone friendly. That said if this site fails, it is not Facebook at fault, it is us. No matter what the faults of this site if we want it to work all we have to do is post. If none of us post then yes the site is a waste.

If you guys miss seeing everyone, make it a point to post one thing a day. No matter how trivial it is. That's all it will take to make this work. If just 100 people pledge to post one thing a day for the year of 2014, that will give over 36,000 post for the year. Come on guys, if you miss the way it was, then we need you to put forth the effort to make it that way again. Setting back and watching for someone else to do it isn't going to work. We all have to pitch in.

Well how embarrassing was this...this afternoon I decided that my new laptop...that is about 6 months old, was running slow. so i decided to clean it out. Well in the course of NOT knowing what I was agreeing to...I wiped clean my ENTIRE list of "bookmarks" along with many passwords. What was just NOW embarrassing was NOT remembering my password...and it is a relatively easy one to recall. Okie dokie...that problem is solved now.

Well it is good to see old familiar faces on here once again. I tried making a photo the udder day and it didn't take. I WILL figure out how to resize the durn things and do some posting.

Going to get back to the bucket next Tuesday,that's the day after I roll the red F-150 (it's FOR SALE)out of the shop and cover it up. Will post photos of what we're doing to the bucket AFTER I clean the shop.

Have to pull the tranny sometime in the next few weeks and get it ready for paint. I WAS going to get the darn thing powder coated, but then I'd have to pull it, then haul it to the tranny shop; have them gut it; then over to the powder coating shop; then back to the tranny shop for rebuild and shift kit; then home. Hell with all of that...just pull, strip old powder coating pick a color and get it squirted the same with the rest of the bucket. I'm getting excited about the bucket again.....

Here are a couple of 8.5 month old photos. I decided to sand/grind off the raised revel that went around the perimeter of the tail gate, then place the license plate smack dabe in the middle, but rather just hang it on the gate, we frenched it in. The '50 Pontiac tail lights are also frenched. I said about 4" the udder day, that was incorrect, I do believe they are in about 2.5" Between the tail lights being frenched and having LEDs along with the antique third brake light with LEDs, there is NO damn reason in the world someone cannot see me stopping....even in full sun!

So enough about me. So happy to see guys and gals posting on here once again. Al....Tzer Good to see you back on. Hope you are doing well. By the way, I certainly hope everyone has a healthy, happy and safe new year. Big Bill...I was in you r shoes last summer regarding the bucket...I came "close" to saying the hell with it and posting it up on craigs list. My spirits are up again though and although it IS frickin' frigid up here....I still muscle up the ambition to take that 150' walk out to the heated shop...and if all i do is putz around, so be it...at least I'm out and about.

I check this site several times daily but don't post much because I use the "chicken" method of typing; hunt & peck. I don't have any bucket activity going on right now because it's still deer season here and I'm an avid hunter. Also, had a hugh oak tree fall on our house when we were at the Mo. mini-nats in Sep and it took 3 months to get the repairs done. On a positive note, the tree yielded 8 cords of firewood.
Lugnut,, glad to hear you're coming to the Springfield,Mo. show; the highlight of which is John and Tammy's BBQ and cruises. We've done it for the last 3 yrs and have a great time. Most bucketheads stay at the EconoLodge on Glenstone Blvd. Make reserv early because it fills up quick. John's host hotel last yr was Super 8 in Strafford. Looking forward to sitting down to breakfast with ya.

Jim thanks for the hotel info. I'll give them a call in the morning. How far is the hotel from the park/fairgrounds or where ever the NSRA event is held?

Speaking of wood, let's see if I can post a photo here...we had a tornado come through here last August...and EF-1 for sure. somewhere under the pile of trees lies my red F-150. We lost many trees, mostly old tall oaks and since I burn wood to heat my house, I presently have the mother load. here is a photo of my wood shed along with the new wood annex. By the way, OldRedT penned the shed "The Wood Palace."

well just screw it...I was able to make my udder photos small, but not these two.

man i just saw the weather report for your area's... KEEP WARM.. lugs don't run out of fire wood at -13 u'll be burning away.. i've run through about 1/3 cord so far... got 5+ inch of snow thrus nite.. put the chains on mower and started to plow.. damn chain came off and beat the hell out of the fender.. back on and came off again.. then got a flat tire, repaired that.. finally got it done.. 4 hrs.. at least it was warm in garage, so i sat in the lazy boy, couple of smokes, n a beer.... done for the day... is spring here yet ????????????????? Brrrrrr

HELP!! I need some "bucket head advice"! For years - at least 6 - I have had trouble getting my carb leaned out to a point where the milage was half way suitable and the plugs were not black. Here is a little history: Old engine; 350 chev, mild cam (Eldebrock performer 650) jetted it all the way down as far as possible on the chart in the owners' manual. RAN RICH
New engine; 383 Stroker (750 Edlebrock - jetted all the way down to the max) Plugs are black, sooty. New headers, new carb etc, all new stuff - mileage is terrible!

The only common element between the two engines are the exhaust turnouts. QUESTION: could these turnouts be causing so much back pressure that the carbs could never be tuned?? The turnouts do have inserts in them for noise suppression.

One of my bier consuming buddies came up with this theory - haven't had time (or weather) to check it out. Any thoughts are appreciated

Opps I planned on posting something every day , but yesterday I failed. I had to take Diana to the surgeons office as the visiting nurse thought her foot had developed a bacterial infection so wrapped up the leg, covered it with a trash bag, got her in wheel chair out the door through the snow into the car, a 60 mile trip to surgeon. The good thing was no problem that is how it is supposed to look. I came home and never turned this thing on. I know not T related I just had to whine to somebody. Thanks for listening. Then my Buckeyes lost the Orange Bowl, today has to be a better day.

Lugs, The EconoLodge is about 2.5 miles from the Ozark Empire fairgrounds where the NSRA show is held. The headquarters is the Double Tree hotel which is in the same block as the EconoLodge. Check out the tread John started on his BBQ.
