Thanks for the pics. Any problems with the rod ends and the balls loosening up? I hear a lot of debate between them and standard tie rod ends. I've never run them in a steering system. I have run them on suspension links and they can wear fast there. However, they were on 5000lb + 4x4 vehicles.

Unisteer is by far the best I have found and they are priced about the same as Flaming River steering box.......I have never seen or heard of someone converting from a full rack to a half rack but I suppose it could be done......

What kind of travel is there is this setup? Just how sharp can you turn?

I have heard it does not turn as tight as the corvair box did. For me and the way my tie rod is setup I did not notice any change in turn radius.

From my research, it's not quite as tight as running cross steer with a Vega box. Most stuff I read, no one had any complaints about turning radius. There were some complaints about bump steer but I don't think their setups had the proper geometry which is the most common problem that causes bump steer. I fought it on Jeeps until I started running drop pitman arms and panard rod parallel to the axle.

I love the Half rack. their is no play in the steering at all. With my tie rod behind the axle, it hits the spring bolts on turns so even when I had the corvair box it did not turn as tight as it should have. I like the half rack that one will be going on the coupe.

You have convinced me. A half rack will be at the top of the list for me. My only concern is the fender or tire hitting the drag link from the rack to the spindle steering bracket when turning.

I see very little turning radis different from my Flaming River box......Maybe a small schoosh to the left but I have not had any trouble with that I remember, now you do know how bad old age is on memories....my tie rod is behind the axle also.......... ....There is no slop with these things just point and shoot.....You will like it........
