Okey dokey. I'll take the pipe and go look for elbows after I pick up that piece of aluminum. I have the beginnings of a plan!

Measure the inside of the stand pipe and then go to a muffler shop and have them bend a piece long enough to mount the head on and far enough from the stand pipe for the width of whatever you're turning.

I do think I figured out how to mount my drill press for engine turning. Still need a few more things, and could use some advice from Mike Wade. The tube that goes in the drill press is about 1-3/4 inch (OD). I can get 1-3/4 inch o.d. pipe at NAPA to extend it. How long Mike?

Also this afternoon, covered my battery box with fiberglass cloth to sorta look like the trans tunnel. A bit rougher than the trans tunnel, as I did not take the time with this that I did with the tunnel. Nevertheless, looks good. Had extra resin (always do!) so did the trans tunnel again, just with resin. Gives it a smoother look. Also trimmed some waste cloth from the driver's side. Did it at 55 degrees. It wasn't setting up, so cranked the heat to 65. Bingo!

You just need to be high enough to slide the alum
Under. What ever higher you need will work.

Got it figured out. Will bolt this heavy duty structural steel with 5/16 bolts to 3/4 inch MDF backed by washers of good multi-ply 3/4 inch plywood with 1/4 inch steel plate for a washer. Should work fine, but will have to build a movable table for in front of my 24 inch workbench.

Frank - What are those pipe connectors? Chain link fence?

Mark, they are used for handrails, guard rails and such. I just wanted something heavy wall and these should do the trick. Hope to know later today, but I got my hands full. Pics later!

Few pics of where I am today. Got pretty much all I need to finish but help. Takes a long time to do this stuff when you're handicapped and on heavy duty drugs and working all by yourself. Not to mention how lonely it gets. So it goes. I want a hot rod!

So these are my new rear wheels and tires. What do you think of the rake? I think it looks okay.

I like the stance of your T, Frank. The whole car is looking great! What's the wheelbase? Have you decided on a color for the body?
