Hey Tub-T, if you still have your paperwork with the times, speeds, locations, etc from your FUN RUN you put on at the last large Nationals at Mountain Home , I think it would be a lot of fun to do it again this year. Most of us are getting so old we don't remember the exact routes and destinations from the first run and I personally had a ball running it. I would bet all the new people would enjoy it also. Just a thought from an old man.

Hope you didn't throw all your stuff away.

I wonder when Pam Green became an "Old Man" that don't remember anything?...........Last time I saw "HER" she was a very nice looking woman that remembers a lot of things.....................LOL.....

I'm sure I don't have it...and I suspect you liked it because YOU WON!!! I did think it was fun.

In case anyone is wondering, what we did was chart a poker route from the fairgrounds out about 30 miles and back. I ran it three times, carefully observing the times, took an average of the three times, and called that the "perfect time." We lined up the cars, handed them an envelope with their first card, wrote their departure time on it, and gave them a set of directions. We alternated cars; the first one ran the course counter-clockwise, the second clockwise, etc. This made it so that you were not necessarily following the car in front of you. The fun part was that for at least half the run, you would be meeting cars running the opposite direction. The idea was to fully obey all speed limits and traffic laws perfectly, and make the stops for the poker cards. I used atomic clocks to establish the times. Since the run was long enough that some might need it, we even included an allowance for a fuel/refreshment stop.

We ended the run at a local watering hole, where we time-stamped every car's first envelope. We gave out prizes for the time closest to the "perfect time," best poker hand, etc.

This was as much a rally as it was a poker run, and as Larry says, I think we had a good time.

By the way, I had it all set up to do it the second Mt. Home Nationals, but the organizers refused to let us do it again the same way. They wanted to make the poker run essentially a tour of the businesses run by their local members and supporters.

I knew someone would nail me for logging in as Pam. Got an I-pad air and it needs my old password to log in and it was just easier to do this way. Mike I think your run could be just as much fun as last time if you wanted to work that hard again to map it out. Mr Lucy might be able to work it in the schedule. Didn't want to beat my drum but yes we did win last time. Just lucky. Something else we could hope for is a quick afternoon rainstorm so Weelstang could hydroplane off the road long as him and the T arn't hurt. By the way my offer still stands, a 100$ bill to anyone that can coerce Weelstang into the water up to his neck , at any of the lakes around Mntn Home, and no ,pushing him in doesn't count! Although on second thought a " push in " might be worth $20.00. What do you think Delaware Bill?

I haven't looked at the schedule, and I haven't talked to Rick Lucy. I would be willing to do it, if some members would be willing to donate prizes for it. I bought all of the prizes last time out of my own pocket, but I'm not in a position to do that this year.

Hey, Larry, what became of the young man who served as your navigator and who picked as his prize that huge R/C pickup?
