New Guy In Arizona

Hello all, I had been wanting to build a T-Bucket for a lot of years. I finally decided to do it, I down loaded a set of plans, and built a frame last Saturday. I did add my own twist to it, a couple inches longer, a little more rise to the back, and pinched the front of the frame (2" x 3" x .188") down to 2" Im not trying to build a super show car but rather a toy I can drive daily. A little about me, I live in Phoenix AZ, I am a real live working engineer. Basically I can design, and build, a Master Fabricator if you will. Also have been a ASE Certified Master Tech for much of my life. So I will be fabing, machining and welding as much of my toy as I can.

I will be looking for a body and a 4" drop tube front axle with Chevy spindles; I plan to do coil over shock on all four corners. Not sure on a power plant just yet, although i will be running a Auto Trani Turbo 350 short tail. I have been on most every site looking at parts and what not. Im not finding anything In Phoenix, maybe im not looking in the right place???

Welcome to the NTBA.....There are many members in the Phoenix area along with many in Tucson/Arizona so I am sure you can find help somewhere out there......

We (the wife & Peggy Sue) come out to Tucson in November for "Fred's Fun Run" each year so maybe we can meet you there one of these trips.........Also the NTBA Regional Meet will be in San Diego CA. this year and you may like to visit there with all those that will be there......Me & the Wife included....

Thanks for the welcome guys, here are so pics of my frame. I will be cutting all the tabs and mounts this week, I just need a front axle w/spindles. Ford 9" is on the way. If I only had one of those plastic set-up engine and trani... I will keep the pics coming as things go.

Beautiful welds on that frame! No need to grind or fill those babies. Sandblast it and get some sparkly powder coat on it once you get everything welded on.

I ran, and will run again, an old 400 sbc chevy on mine. Stump pulling torque, just what every hot rodder needs ahead of a good TH350!

look'n good... may i suggest a "super bell" front end.. heavy tubed with chebby disc too.. when i built mine yrs ago i wanted something different in shocks.. i put 4 harley shocks on the rear.. 2 on ea side.. i don't recall which one, i know it was not the big road hog but next step down.. good size but not sportster..
