I always use cork. Sometimes have to be special ordered and only a few companies carry them. But they can be found.

Windy, I have a Fel-Pro gasket. Pretty sure its neoprene. I have chrome pan. I made sure the pan rail was dead flat and I scuffed it lightly with a red Scotch pad. Never had a single leak in 12 years.

Hi Windy, I also am running a FelPro as I recall. In addition I am using clamping bars that I made, around the whole pan rather than washers. BTW the pan is also chrome and has cooling tubes that run through it. It has been on the car since inception back in 1987. I haven't run any gasket sealer and with the addition of the bars it stays pretty dry the last time I looked.
