Not an NTBA event, but a local event called Small Town Weekend in El Reno Oklahoma on Route 66. Among many different happening they also close down the old Route 66 and for $25 you can cruise thru town in a loop. One of the Oklahoma Highway Patrol that working security for the event flagged me down and handed me a ticket. Turns out the organizers have some tickets given to the police to hand out when they saw something they liked. The ticket was for $25, so I turned it in got my money back for entry fee.

They also close Route 66 for some drag racing .....yes there have been been some crashed and they still have the event.

I spotted him a couple of seconds, you know me I want it to be fair. Before you call the winner, wait until you see the 2nd view from another camera. That was with a box stock Demon carburetor. I have since gone thru drilling the carb in 20 places and a tuning session with a AQ-1.

Well a good guess about the Royal Gorge, but I didn't get a ticket for that. However though I did get invited to leave the property.
Any other guesses

Looks like not many guessing on this, sooooo. the first ticked did in fact go to me actually. However probably not for what you think,
. It was actually for excessive noise, now isn't that a rip. The date was at the 2nd Nats in Branson 2000 during the midnight cruise down the strip. In actuality I did do a burn out, but they changed it to excessive noise so I would not get any points. I thanked them
. On top of that I had one of my customers riding with me who traveled there from out of state to get a ride and to this day he and I are still friends and visit each other from time to time.
In case you all are wondering who got the second one??? It was not me, I don't remember his name, but it was the following year at Hannibal MO and there was even a picture in the club newsletter of him and I as the founding members of that exclusive club of "Getting a ticked during a National event". I don't know if there ever were another person to get a ticked during the actual event, ?? Does anyone else know about such things??
Ahhhhh Trips down memory lane, Have a great day !!

And that little Chevy made it all the way (with Lisa riding shotgun) from Greenleaf, Wisconsin to Branson, Missouri and back home. Upon arrival back to home base was the beginning of the end for that little red bucket....later that Fall, the LGSM was born.Bill Cleveland wrote: ↑Sat Mar 24, 2018 2:33 pm I don't recall who raced against Luggy, but I do know he had a different car, and it was NOT Ford-powered!!!

You see that THIN fellow to the right of the screen? Yeah that was "mini me." Just behind the windshield on the left is Jim "Top Hat" Diehl.

National T-Bucket ALLIANCE began in 2000. It was known as the National T-Bucket Association in 1999....and the rest is history.

Might be fun to make a way to add thoughts or comments to each year, a thing or 2 that might stick out in your mind. Maybe a little test to see who can still remember a small detail. Example 1999 Branson a drag race between Luggy & ? who ? ( the cars were both pushed by hand ) who was the second car and who won?
Also if anyone might have a picture from the event or a cruise during the event or something to cause the ol memory banks to kick in ???
What do you think ???

Kevin...the "drag race" did NOT involve me. It was a race between Dave Pilgrim and Mark Fuess and I do believe Mark won. Pilgrim had a yellow Total Performance bucket...it was exactly like what was on their catalog cover; Mark's bucket was red. I do have a DVD from that first nationals...I do believe Hemi-T made one. We all drove to the nats that year. Lisa and I left Wisconsin, stayed with Hemi-T that eveninig; thenext day we met up with Punkun and Melinda...drove down to St. Louis and Met Russ Gore and a couple other folks at the Hooter's parking lot in St. Louis, south county...afterwards we headed to Motel Six ...next morning we had a "short convoy" of buckets heading to Branson. It was a hoot. I do have photos somewhere, and certain I have a DVD.

Kevin Seward wrote: ↑Wed Apr 04, 2018 10:00 am Right about a different car back then. I am remembering it was either cartoon bandit or ??? the guy who owned the travel agency and was one of the founders as I recall. Maybe Luggy will chime in and remind us who had the stronger push team ???![]()

That's right kevin...Mark Fuess was known as the Cartoon Bandit. I have no clue why. I do know his wife....can't recall her name, real nice lady and very easy on the eyes.
Dave Pilgrim had the travel agency and that was an entirely different story which this gentleman refuses to discuss any further.
