You're kidding - Ocala Florida

Two days ago, Saturday December 22nd, I am walking through The Villages Car Show in The Villages, FL (just South of Ocala) and I was talking to my friend about my 23 T Bucket build. Then a strange guy came up along side of me and asked if I had a T Bucket and if I lived in this area. He continued to tell me that National T-Bucket Alliance was having a regional meet in April 2014. You have to be kidding, I said. I was going to join NTBA about a year ago but decided not to because NTBA didn't have any car meets in Florida. Then this strange guy said HE was going to soon be passing out flyers about the event. Who was this strange guy? Then he said he was moving to The Villages in a few days. Hot dog! A new local T Bucket enthusiast. I thought I was alone around here with my T Bucket and wow, a local show from NTBA. So I went right in and joined. Who was this strange man? I think it was maybe "Big Dog" himself? Well, thanks "Big Dog" - I am now a new member and I will be at the Ocala show. Hopefully my T will be completed by then. I need to find a show car interior guy in Florida who can button up this build just prior to the show. You guys and gals coming will love Ocala and hopefully get to tour one or more of the 3 Villages downtown squares. David

David it was great talking to you. I should have introduced myself but I was amazed that I was walking down the street & happened to hear you say to your friend that you have a T. I was caught flat footed & speechless. Something that rarely happens to me. Do you have your T in the Villages now? If you do I will have to stop by & see it.

Yep. My T-Bucket is in The Villages. Actually it is in our shop in Oxford with the other street rods. Love to have you stop by. I live in the Village of Lynnhaven which is near the high school. I hope I gave you my business card so call me on my cell. I will be at the shop most of tomorrow (Saturday) working feverishly on completion, but I don't know if I can get it done in time because we are so much perfectionists. Plus my friend and I have to complete the new shop's paint booth. Man, I just don't know if I can get it all done in time. Please, give me a call. Right around the corner from our shop is Carolina Street Rods and also next to our shop is a pro SCCA racer and his shop. You will have to join The Villages Racing Club if you like auto racing. Very active club with about 200 members. Did you know that the former president of Lokar lives here. Nice guy and still active in street rods. You will be in heaven with all us hot rodders. I am confident this upcoming Easter Regional will be a huge success. Once again, I can help out where ever you guys need me to help since I live in The Villages, just about 20 minutes South of Ocala. I will not have my t-bucket done in time for the show. So very close but I just can't push it that hard to complete it the way I want it. I hope to meet many of you at the show. It will be a big weekend in April as the Goodguys show is that weekend also in Kissimmee, Fl. Sure love to have a future years regional in The Villages! Dave Vanderwall
