Electric fan with or without fan shroud
Are you guys running electric fans with or without fan shrouds. Do you find the electric fan without a shroud pulls enough air to cool engine?

Re: Electric fan with or without fan shroud
In my case, yes. I'm running a stock 350 with mild cam and 2,000 stall convertor on a TH350 trans with no overheating. Radiator is a '64 Ford Falcon V-8 piece (3-row).
PS - The fan is a 16" unit.
PPS - The red things sticking out are just zip ties used during mock-up.

No shroud on mine... no cooling issues at all.

Re: Electric fan with or without fan shroud
Hi, well to be honest i wanted to go with a manual fan, and a lot of people talked me out of it, they all said it would run cooler with a elect one. I have a aluminum 2 row from speedway thats for their T, i have a blueprint 383 stroker, so its not stock but its not a super duper race engine either, i have a 17" spal elect fan, i put it on just the way it came, i didnt add any additional shroud, my engine runs as cool as can be, usually around 160,170, it will hit 180 or higher if i turn my fan off, but as long as my fan is on, it stays in that range even in our hot weather here in La. So, im not telling you what to do, im just letting you know what i did, hope it helps.

Re: Electric fan with or without fan shroud
I have the electric fan with shroud (maybe, it is like the picture, so not much of a shroud) and it cools ok, just had to come up with a tougher mounting than comes with the unit. I lost two fans and a radiator because the mounts were not tough enough.
