latest on the Paddywagon down

I got my transmission out and took it to a specialist. This came with the engine and seemed to be okay, I did not bother with checking it out when I had the engine rebuilt and put the car on the road. I drove it over 15K without any trouble until I was heading to Atlanta and broke down in LA.
The guy says the transmission was completely destroyed. Cheaper to by a used one and recondition it.
Hopefully I will be on the road again in a week or two.
