A note from the President
Hi All,
For those of you that did not have the opportunity to attend Nationals in Townsend, here is some information on the 2022 Nationals announced during the meeting.
The 2022 Nationals will be held in Rapid City, South Dakota. We will be driving our buckets through the Black Hills National Forest seeing all the sights, including Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Custer State Park, town of Deadwood and many more. The hotel is the Holiday Inn Rushmore Plaza, this is a beautiful hotel right in Rapid City with plenty of trailer parking and easy access to our destinations. But, DO NOT CALL THE HOTEL! when you get done reading this! They start taking reservations within certain days out from the event. We should be able to call within a month or two. The system is not activated with our information yet. I will let you know when we can start. For those of you who chose to ignore this note and call anyway, you will get a reservation at the regular price $$$$ (you don’t want to know ).
At this time we do not have an RV Park set up. We’re working on that and will also let you know.
Even though it’s a year away, my favorite saying comes into place, “ it’ll be here before we know it!”

Thank you Bruce for the outcome of the membership meeting and info on hotel, I greatly appreciate this info, as does, I’m sure of all the others who could not attend the Nationals in Townsend. This is all I was requesting a week or so ago.

The good Lord willing, I will see you in Rapid City next year.

A Note From the NTBA President
Hi All,
We’ve had a lull in our events during August after Nationals and the Presidents Run, but it’s about to crank back up again!
We’ve got three events happening in September. Osage Beach/Lake of the Ozarks on September 9-11, The Lobsta Run in South Portland, Maine sept 16-18, and The Razor T’s in Mountain Home, Arkansas Sept 23-26. Then we’ll finish out the year in November with The Arizona T’s Run in Sierra Vista, AZ. November 4-6. Only four runs left for 2021, so I hope all of you can make at least one.
2022 is shaping up to be another great season! We’ve already got new destinations, including Rapid City, South Dakota for Nationals. We’ve still got a lot of finalizing to do before we can announce anything, but I guarantee you, you’ll enjoy them! It’s not to late if any of you have a destination in mind and want to host an event. Contact any board member, but don’t wait to long.
I hope to see a lot of you at one of the remaining events! If you can’t make it, we’ll see you next year!

Hi All,
A lot of things have been happening for next year, so I’ll try to explain as best as I can.

Many of you have been asking when can we start reservations in Rapid City for June. The good news is you can start now, the “different” news is that it will not be a nationals, but instead a regional. The dates are the same Wednesday June 15 through Saturday June 18, 2022. The hotel is the Best Western Ramkota Hotel and Conference Center. 605-343-8550. There is also a KOA Holliday campground 4.1 miles away.

The Nationals will be in Bowling Green, Kentucky, the week of July 11 through the 16. Our original hotel in Rapid City, that we had the agreement with, failed to tell us all the parking around the hotel did not belong to them! It belonged to the Convention Center, who was very quick with their offer to rent it to us, per day! For a sum that would have broken our bank account. It seemed that all the hotels in Rapid City that could accommodate our parking needs, could offer us the rooms, but the meeting and registration rooms were separate entities from the hotels. They also offered to rent them to us with large minimums, per day!

We didn’t want to take away the enjoyment of Mt. Rushmore and all the other attractions in Custer State Park. So we’re happy to present it as a regional event. We still expect a large turnout, we just won’t have the meeting!

We discovered Bowling Green almost by accident! Our Sergeant At Arms Cory “Cooter” Cothern went there to scout a regional run. And behold! The Visitors Center people are all car fanatics and jumped at the chance to get our T buckets around town. The hotel is beautiful and will be ready for reservations next week. We’re signing the contract on Monday, and I will make the announcement after that. There are many attractions including the Corvette museum and assembly plant. AND we’re working on getting some time on the test track in both our buckets and some new Corvettes! There are also many other attractions and scenic drives we’ll be working on.

We should have an announcement on the rest of the 2022 season by the end of November. There will be some new and fun places we’re going.

Hi All,
The Holiday Inn University Plaza in Bowling Green, Kentucky is ready to start taking reservations for the 2022 Nationals!

The dates officially are Wednesday July 13, 2022 through Saturday July 16, 2022. However we will have activities and informal runs starting Monday July 11, 2022.

The phone number is 1-800-HOLIDAY. The code to mention is NTB. Or book the reservation on line using the group booking link: National T-Bucket Alliance The rates are $109.00 weekdays for the nights of Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Then $119.00 for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. We still get the discount for anybody that wants to stay a few days before or after. There are RV Parks in the area, the KOA is 4.2 miles away.

We will use a similar format we used in Townsend for the event. There will be four days of guided led runs, and a choice of three or four self guided shorter runs for those who don’t care to go on the longer ones. We will also have a day out at the Corvette facilities where you can tour the museum, and do some laps on the track either in your bucket or a new corvette, or both! That will most likely be either Wednesday or Thursday. I will post information on that soon. We’re also lining up other attractions and museums along with some great scenic cruising.

The cutoff date for the rooms is Friday June 10, 2022. Please don’t miss it to get this great rate at a beautiful hotel!

Rapid City Event

The event in Rapid City will be Wednesday June 15 through Saturday June 18, 2022. The cutoff date for room registration will be Friday April 29, 2020. The price of room are$132 plus tax (Unfortunately it’s high tourist season).

To make a reservation call the Best Western Ramkota 605-343-8550. Specify you are with The National T Bucket Alliance to receive the group rate. You must call the hotel directly. Reservations can also be made on line at the Best Western reservations website.

Remember from a previous post, this event is not the NTBA Nationals, it is a regional event. However we expect a large turn out so be sure and make your reservations by the cutoff date.

This will be a fun event with visits to Mt. Rushmore, Custer State Park, town of Deadwood, and other great sights and cruises.

BRUCE!!!! WOW I CAN HARDLY WAIT NOW. Thank you for the great information and all the details that followed. I'm looking forward to attending both venues, Lord willing. Lisa said she will not attend Bowling Green because of the heat, but she will be going with me to South Dakota. I'll try my best this next time around NOT to fall on the jagged rock walkway and rip the palm of my hand wide open again.

A Note From The NTBA President
Hi All,
Some of you have been asking about next years events. I know that a lot of you need to have dates and locations as early as possible so you can plan vacations.
We’re still working on a few things, but I can give you what we have so far. These dates and locations are confirmed, however there may be slight changes such as the town name next door instead. I want to have the schedule completely finished by the end of December because it all has to go off to the printers for T shirts.
We’re also looking at ideas for 2023.
