Ode To Registration June/6/2002

Ode To Registration

It's like Christmas, occurring once a year,
With the two thousand two dates growing very near!
Last year's was in Hannibal, the previous two in Branson,
Each one on its' own, being filled with memories most hansom.

By now you've probably guessed what I'm talking about,
That would be the N.T.B.A. NATS, which have been really 'stout'!
And now there's a fourth, rapidly on the way,
Due to begin on July's eighteenth day!

This year, south of the Mason-Dixon, down Texas way,
The best N.T.B.A. NATS will be held, I'm here to say.
And, just as the three preceding, this one will be different 'agin',
We're hoping a record number of 'Bucketheads' will give it a 'spin'!

If you've been watching this BBS, you've see a lot of explaining,
About much of the 'doins', which will wax entertaining.
To explain how many attractions are around the hotel,
Would make me 'slap-happy' and 'dingy' like a bell.
So, I'll bypass any attempt and move on ahead,
Till a few more words, about this years NATS, have been said.

The number of our group has reached the seven hundred mark,
Believe me, that didn't happen just on a 'lark'!
So many new members and cars must make the NTBA a 'lure',
Nobody knows everybody else, that's for sure.

If you've missed our previous NATS, please let me explain,
They were great 'lettle' meets, elevating one to a 'Buckethead' plain!
Each one different than the other two,
Being filled with experiences all anew.

The N.T.T.B. is our chapter, we're hosting this year,
The ole North Texas T-Buckets have really been in gear.
And I ain't talkin' about no low, second or high 'jive',
We've tried to make this meet well worth your drive!

So, if there's any way you can make it to Grapevine this year,
We urge you to make every effort, and please try to appear.
With or without a T, you'll be most welcome here,
And about that, this Texan gives you NO 'bum steer'!

Watching Fat Pat, APT and Big Dog exchange verbal 'licks',
Is sure to give you some hilarious 'kicks'!
And be sure and catch the discussion between Lugnut and BT,
About Ford and Chevy motors and what the best selection would be,
Actually, these gentlemen DO agree on one thing, it would seem,
They both state that the only correct color for a T is GREEN.

Yes, we have many more characters, but their names, I won't say,
Cause I'm not tryin' to sell you personalities, since this ain't Ebay.
Some may think that the 'barbs' exchanged would create great offends,
But, come to Grapevine, you just might find that these guys to be the best of friends.

You'll get to meet Nu-T who keeps our web-site out of the ditch,
Plus Toolman, who's given the NATS such a great sales-pitch.
And Punkun, the Prez and family are comin' in from the 'patch',
With many more unnamed which should make for an interesting batch.
Since Sota is coming all the way from Japan,
Maybe some of our 'undecideds' will now say, "Yes, I can"!

June twenty-five is the deadline for a guaranteed room,
So, if you ain't registered yet, ya' better make it soon.
Or your chance a staying in the host hotel may turn to gloom,
For, over the twenty-sixth, public registration does loom.

I hope to have pushed the undecided over the edge,
That they might call the hotel and make a pledge.
To be 'in house' on July eighteenth when the NTBA NATS will start,
Those in attendance should receive a shot of happiness to the heart.

We're hoping to make this the best NATS to have occurred,
But, judgement on that will have to be deferred.
Til' the number in attendance can be totaled for view,
Make no mistake, the N.T.T.B. wants YOU!

So, if you possibly can, please register today,
Come on down to Grapevine and let's all play.
If you can't bring your T, that's no reason to hide,
Just find a T with an empty passenger seat and 'hitch' a ride!
