John when I built my first roadster you would have to remove the 1 to have an accurate price of course that was over a half century ago. In 1974 when they talked about gas going to 50 cents a gallon many people said the would walk before they paid that much. Most are still driving.
The least I ever paid was 18 cents a gallon.
Been there, done that, hope to live long enough to do it all again.

In high school at my afternoon/weekend/summer place of employment I pumped gas at $.17 per gal, washed every window in the car, checked the oil, water, fan belts and the tires then before you left I would hand you a glass/mug and say please come back to see with a GREAT big smile....
.....I washed about 10 cars a day for $.75 cents per car and made the princely sum of $.50 per hour......
......I graduated in 1962 and worked at the main street Texaco station in Belen New Mexico and then Chevron bought that station, long before they bought the whole Texaco Co,,,After they bought the station they sent me to a school to learn how to "sell" more TBA.......Tires, Batteries, & Accessories..
.......I worked there for the four years of high school..............Damn that is a long time ago.......
I will go back to my little world now.....

The porta potty was setting behind it Luggy. Now this one takes its outhouse with it wherever it goes.

Normal is just a setting on my washing machine.
