T-Pilot.....sorry to read of your surgeries. the toughest part is yet to come...rehab. I recall the hobbling part when my knees went to hell at the same time. Wasn't fun, but I got new knees almost 14 years ago and it was the best thing I ever did. Take it easy in EVERYTHING you do and follow everything the doctors tell you to do...even IF you THINK you know better.
Welcome home.

Re: Where all the old regulers?
Well, while we're on the subject of old body parts and surgeries, I do not believe I will be making the NSRA event in Springfield this year...DAMN! I've only been wanting to do that event for the last five years. Also might be a slim chance of my making the Nats in Mtn. Home.
Why you might ask or not.....I am having my second shoulder surgery on the left shoulder. Had an MRI done late January and the doc found a "major tear." I asked if he thought I could make it to late August, he told me..."it's a major tear now..if you wait any longer, I can't garonetee that I can repair it." I was hoping to get it done AFTER the heating season, but that's not going to happen. I gave my notice to the three groups I perform with, told them I'd be back with them next year.
What IS going to happen is surgery first week in March. Figure next time they have to do surgery, they might be replacing the shoulder mechanism. Right now I live with pain meds just to get through the day. I try my best NOT to over work the left shoulder, but y'all know how that goes. Lisa said she will go out and feed the fire IF she is home. We were enjoying the low gas bills...guess we;ll have to go back to payin' the man for March.
Will let you know about the NSRA event...going to hold onto my hotel until the last minute.

Luggy, you don't need your left shoulder to play the trombone, just the right so you can slide. I played trombone in high school but wasn't very good. Anyway hope all goes well with your surgury

Doc,
I require both extreme ties to play trombone....I play "bass" trombone, meaning that not only does the left shoulder support the horn, there are two triggers that which I have to contend.

Good Luck Luggy
I hope we see you in May, but I understand if you can't make it. The main thing is get it done and healed.

Luggy,
I am just wrapping up physical therapy on my ankle that I broke in two places in November. Starting to get around better.
Be a good patient and do what the doctor tells you to. Please advise when your actual operation is. Laurie and I will keep you in our prayers for a complete recovery.
