Taken last night, started about mid-January. Wanted to get it titled in time for this Saturday's "Fourth Street Cruise". Looks like I'll be a spectator......again.

Sorry about the tire size, but it's not going to get much bigger. I'm after the fifties jalopy look during the build, and maybe a 30's vintage boattail speedster look later. Right now, just trying to get it together so's I can get a title for it.

Looking good, Roger. Gotta love the MoPar Leaner-6. What is the rest of your drive train like?

Just a standard A904 auto trans hooked to a '59 Chevy rear axle assembly. The rear was one of the stumbling blocks that we ran across when we started assembling it. It was supposed to have been a "kit", but we found '55-'56 axles, '57-'58 housing, and '59-'64 backing plates. Some previous "builder" had made some aluminum rings and pressed them into the housing ends to take up the space that was left after the smaller diameter of the early axle bearings. Saw too many problems, so hit up a local yard for a complete rear....end of problems.
Also had to correct some geometry issues up front that was causing a twisted binding in the transverse spring shackles.
All good now, but man there's a lot of small parts to build when you start pretty much from scratch.
