I'm looking at buying new headers for an old t-bucket with chrome headers which have 'blued' and rusted. I'm looking at armor hot coat or stainless. I'm assuming the stainless will last longer and keep their looks longer but would like to hear from some experienced souls.

Re: Armor Hot Coat or Stainless Steel
Paul, I am running headers made by CCR, Custom Craft Racing Headers, which are ceramic coated both inside and out. I have been running these same headers for 6 1/2 years now and they still look good. THey will make the headers and turnouts to your specs! I think they are listed on top of the page too
Ask for Linda!

i got my headers and muf's at 'southern rods and parts" in north or south Carolina (can't recall which). but they were also coated in/out ceramic and lasted several yrs.. bluing is something u will have with chrome.. they do look nicer but require more work to keep them that way.. i recall a coating that resembles chrome (kinda) but don't know the name..

Bill:
I'll check them out. Thanks. Still wondering if 'stainless steel' looks/lasts better.

Re: Armor Hot Coat or Stainless Steel
deep pockets on the SS headers.. will last and easy to bring back to shine.. can't buff coated or chrome like ss..
but ss will turn color faster..

Re: Armor Hot Coat or Stainless Steel

The "hot" Ceramic Coating on these headers is about 6 years old now and they were a little bit rusted when that was done but they still look great........In Albuquerque the price has gone up from when I had these done but it is still worth it I think......One of our sponsors does this work and I bet you can have them do the ones you have now.....
