The trickiest part Frank is getting that drill press to levitate without a support post. LOL

How far back can you go from the center of chuck till you hit the post?

I can go back something over 8 inches Larry. I can probably do my 32 x 7 dash. Was gonna give one of those Proloc bristle brushes today, but need to clean up the shop some before I can play.

Put up a new piece of peg board today for a wrench pouch I've had for an awful long time. Took advantage of the peg hooks to hang a few of my smaller levels. That box on the lower left of the pic is on one edge of my rolling worktable that is chock full of fasteners.

Frank I took my small drill press and made a tube from an Alum shaft that would fit my drill's mount and that slipped it in to a pipe that is welded to my table on my saw. That was I could get that whole sheet under the drill. If you look real close you will see a couple marks on the back rest that was used to mate up to the one on the sheet of Alum on 2 inch centers. That is how you get the pattern.....Clear as mud I know.....
After awhile the circles will cross your eyes so I only made about 3 pass at a sitting.... Try it you will love it..

Hi Frank,
I did my firewall and dash also, 1" diameter on the firewall and 1/2" diameter on the dash. Stainless steel on both
I used CRATEX rubber abrasives to do mine. I used a large throated drill press with a homemade jig and fence.
