A Note From The President
Hi All,
How’s it going? How is the quarantine, and the social distancing with the 6’ distance apart? I know it’s difficult but with all of us doing our part, I know it will benefit us in the near future.
I still feel confident (and hopeful) about NATS happening. The advantage for us is that time is on our side, with just a little under three months to go. However, we will still monitor it. In the mean time, we have three events in April and May that we’re watching closely. We’re talking this week and will have announcements very shortly.
Again I want to mention that all decisions will be made with the safety of our members and participants in mind. I will error to the cautious side, because I don’t want anybody getting sick when we can avoid it. Whatever events we cancel or postpone, we’ll try to move around, and possibly still fit them into the second half of the season. If not, we’ll add them to next year.
I want to take a moment and say thank you to each and every one of you for your support and understanding. It is truly an honor to be part of such a great group of folks who make up our NTBA family. I very much look forward to being with all of you again soon.
So don’t worry, the day will come when we can drive our buckets, and stand next to each other!😂.

Hope everyone is doing well out there!

I insure with Hagerty, and I get their weekly news letter. This week it had an interesting article for those of us who are hunkered down:

A Note From The President

Hi All,
The board has been meeting all week and we decided in the best interest of all members and participants, the NTBA is suspending all events through the end of June. Unfortunately, yes this includes NATS in Townsend, Tennessee.
Now, keep reading because we have some interesting plans we think you will like! NATS will be moved ahead on year to the same corresponding week in 2021, in Townsend Tennessee. It will be the week of June 9-12, 2021. DO NOT start calling the hotels to change your reservation, we are doing that for you! Rolla is working with the Talley Ho and the Tremont to transfer all reservations to the same days, one year later. If you find that will not work for you, then you can call and make your own adjustments. Please give us at least a week to get this coordinated, then you can change anything you need to. Both hotels were pleased we did not cancel entirely, and are happy to work with us on moving the date. Those of you in the RV park should have the same situation. I’m working on that, so please give me a couple of days to finalize it.
For the first three events in April and May, were trying to do the same thing, I will update on those in a few days.
From the start I’ve talked about the safety of all our members and participants, and not taking any chances of putting anybody at risk. Many of you have expressed concerns about attending events before this virus is completely over. We agree, and want all of you to come to events feeling completely comfortable, and confident of a safe environment.
As of this writing, we still have the second half of the season in place starting with the Boerne, Texas event in July. BUT, we will monitor everything as we start getting closer.
To sum it up clearly. No events through the end of June. Nationals (NATS) is moved to 2021 still in Townsend, Tennessee. Events starting in July are still in place.
I apologize for the inconveniences, and hope everyone is able to adjust schedules, vacations, work and everything else to be able to come to events. This stuff has set all of our worlds a little upside down, but like I’ve said before, we’ll be cruising again soon!

Seems like the best events to reschedule and keep them in 2020 would be the early events
like the Gulf Port cruise. They could do something in September or October and still have
good weather.

Right now is not the time to try to reschedule any of the cancelled events because at this time we really don't know when this crap (Covid-19) will be lifted.

So if we do get a chance to make some new events from these three will be looked at in the future...Why should we make some other promises that may or not be able to be done...…

Yes we did look at the times you are talking about but we decided that it may just be more events that we would have to cancel in the future.....

Trust me the 5 of US want to cruise together as much as anyone else...….

Government and State police are having road blocks going into lots of Southern States to force you to go back where you came from or to be Quarantined for 14 days when you get to destination. Now is not a good time to be forced to stay anywhere but home.

Just stay safe as us older compromised people and younger healthier ones don't need this virus so we can be together again when it has run its course.
There is always a tomorrow !!
