Doofus cruising . . .

Post by Bill Cleveland »

Went for a short cruise yesterday since it was 55 degrees and sunny in St Louis. As I started out, I was squirming in my seat to get comfortable and accidentally bumped the shift lever for my TH 350 into reverse. There was an immediate screech of tires and instant deceleration. Fortunately I was at low speed and realized what I had done; quickly shifted back into drive. I sheepishly looked around to see if any neighbors saw my hijinks. I hope not. No harm, no foul. Just a red face on my part!

No, it doesn't. I have a safety switch that only allows for starting in Park, but no reverse lockout.

Opps..............Need to fix or install the lock out so that don't happen again............That is why my shift lever is over by the side of the body and out of way on the floor......... :)! :)! :)! :)!

Guilty........got the near stop and tire chirp. Luckily the car behind was following a safe distance. No harm , no foul. Must say the transmissions seem to take it in stride.......once.
