Hi guys, i am trying to get a "good" answer on how many quarts a TH350 should hole, i have a 12" tq converter and it was bone dry when i bought it. i have a after market dipstick that im having trouble with so im trying to find out how many i should have in it, so i will know if its close to my mark on the stick.
thanks,

Re: TH 350 transmissions
I know a good answer would be nice, unfortunately there is not one good answer. The variables are length and size of fluid lines, how much the oil cooler holds, size of torque converter, size of pan, etc. I would guess somewhere around 9-10 quarts. Like I said - not a good black and white answer.

Duke, I told him the same thing the other day. I suggested that he check the level on the stick, drive it and see if it comes out the vent. Better to slightly over versus under right

Re: TH 350 transmissions
its not showing on the stick yet, i added two, so i have 10 in it now, i appreciate all the answers, one thing everyone has pretty much agreed on was that its better to have too much than not enough. i will be adding one more and checking it, and possibly two more to get up to 12. i have a 12" converter, i have he 18" aluminum fin oil cooler with the lines going to it very short. i will get it right and i will let everyone know, thanks.

Re: TH 350 transmissions
it could take up to 14qts. Make sure you check it hot.
