Trailering ypur Bucket?

When you trailer your T-Bucket, do you put it in park. I pull mine in the trailer, put it in park and tie it down with cargo straps.

Would this cause damage having it in park? I may start tying it down in neutral and then putting it in park.

Any thoughts.

I put mine in park until I have all of the straps snug. I then put it neutral and tighten the straps as tight as I can get them. I then put it back in park and set the parking/e-brake.

I took out a gear in my bikes tranny once by transporting it long distance tied down to bike trailer leaving it in third gear. Since I have had mixed feedback from transmission guys, so why risk it. Agree with Lee, Throw it into Neutral after you tie it down.

Hi, trying to figure out how that would make a difference, seems like with front straps pulling tight and back straps pulling tight, they are pulling against the frame, not the tranny, but i would love for someone to explain this, i have never given it much thought. i might be putting mine in trailer different from now on. Live and Learn, thats what i love about this club.

Back when I used to race dragsters I put peel and stick 12 inch square tiles (in a black and white checkered board pattern) in my trailer. The slicks would actually scoot the tiles forward. I had to end up putting 24 X 24 stainless down and screwing them down. I think the High Profile tires like the slicks and MT Sportsman allow the car to bounce and scoot the tires when the cars bounces in the trailer.
WE might be better off tying the tires down. with a strap.

I always tie the bucket through the wheels pulling front & back using straps there are no marks left and the car is the same place I put it when I get to where I am going.......My wheels are Cragers so it is easy to do......try it you will like it.........
