Hotel/RV Park Info for the Race City USA Fun Run

Hello NTBA!

Plans are coming together for the RACE CITY USA FUN RUN, in Mooresville, NC from April 25-27, 2019.

Our formal itinerary is still coming together, but we need a headcount for certain events. We have a pre-registration app setup, so we will know when you plan to arrive. Our confirmed events include a day trip to Mount Airy (Mayberry – Andy Griffiths’ home town), a special Veteran’s Event, a special activity for the ladies, a VIP Tour of the North Carolina Auto Racing Hall of Fame, a visit to a classic car shop with over 100 classics for sale and a cook-out lunch provided by Laurie and I. As always, great meals and ice cream runs are planned!

Some of our early bird events will be very headcount dependant, so please make your intention to participate on the NTBA website, as soon as possible. We can not disclose specifics until we get a preliminary headcount, but we are trying to secure: a VIP Race Shop tour, a winery tour/lunch and guests at a local Cruise Night!

The host hotel is the Hilton Garden Inn, 1017 Gateway Crossing Dr., Statesville, NC 28667. The phone number is 704-380-3940. Rates are $109.00 plus tax, for a King or a Double. To get this discounted rate, you MUST mention “NTBA”. This rate is locked in until April 11th, after that they will go back to normal rates. Unfortunately, this hotel is not pet friendly. However, there are several hotels in the immediate area that are supposed to be pet friendly. Please contact me if you need a recommendation.

Arrangements for R.V.s have been made at the Statesville I-77 KOA RV Park, 162 KOA Lane, Statesville, NC 28667 (KOA.com/Campgrounds/Statesville). It’s about a 10 minute drive from the hotel to the RV Park. The NTBA campground rate is:
• 50 Amp Site: $49.95 (14 Sites available, as of this posting)
• 30 Amp Site: $45.45 (15 Sites available, as of this posting)

If you are bringing a RV you can make a reservation, as soon as possible, as this is “in-season” for them. For RV reservations, call 704-873-5560. They are going to try to put all of the NTBA RV’s in the same area, so make your reservations, early to be next to the rest of the group. As usual, mention “NTBA” to get our rates. These rates are locked in until April 11th, after that they will go back to normal rates.

We will have informal T-Bucket events beginning on Tuesday, 4/23. However, if you want to arrive even earlier, we can point you to some fun things (NASCAR Hall of Fame, Antique Malls, Go-Kart Tracks, Race Shops, Etc.)

Race City USA Update: Plans are moving along nicely for the Fun Run in Mooresville, NC. Please remember that the last date to reserve a discounted hotel room is April 11th! I met with our hotel contact, at the Hilton Garden Inn, and several people are registered for the event, but have not booked their hotel room.

While the Hilton is not pet friendly, just two miles away the Ramada Inn, in Statesville, NC, is happy to have you and your pet! I know of at least two Bucketheads that have booked there!
