Before you order a driveshaft, please measure the diameter of your old one and get one with the same yoke on one end that you have now and the Jag yoke can fit in the other end after measuring the length. Measure TWICE/THRICE before cutting.

Thanks for the help guys. Just down measuring for my driveshaft, but got a question...

How much of the splined part going into the transmission show? I can tell real easy how much used to show - 1 and 3/8 inch. That's too much isn't it? What's a good rule of thumb for that? Once I know that, I have measurements and am going to go at it!

And yes, I stretched the chassis about 18" for the t tub body. If I had not had to do that, I would be hankerin for spring to get the hot rod out. This whole process has taken a long time, and I went from a great straight body from CCR to a real crummy one from Jim Wilkos.

How can I forget Bill? My mistake was listening to my wife. When that body burned up in our pole barn fire, it would have been sooo easy to just get another CCR stretched body, but no, Gail wanted a 4 seater. What a pain. I could have rebuilt the hot rod for thousands less, and been done a long time ago.

That $109.99 one was 2 and 1/2" for circle track cars. This one is pricey (350), but comes with the transmission yoke and u-joint for the rear end part. If anything wears out on a transmission, after u-joints, it these transmission yokes. I just took the u-joint out of the rear yoke and attached it. All I need to do now is measure from the seal on back of the transmission to the center of the yoke. After breakfast!

Looks like 41 and 7/8 to center of yoke. Also, maybe next month have new wheels and tires for the back too. I hope...

Did you remember to leave 3/4 to 1 inch of play on the splined end?

Bill, I talked to Speedway to see how to measure this baby. From the flat of the seal in the transmission to the center of the u-joint cap for the rear end. It comes with the yoke end for the 700R4, and provides me a u-joint for the Jag end. Saves me time and money, and gets me a 3" driveshaft. I hope next month. I'll keep y'all posted.
