So the prices for a room at the Tremont is NOT a fixed rate? During the week I would pay $102, but on the weekend it gets bumped up to $111??? What the heck kind of deal is this? If I recall, the price at the Tundra Lodge was $99 a night...through the weekend.

Luggy, we are in a national park/ tourist area. I hate it as much as you. That's just the way it is here. They jack the price on weekends. I will tell you this. That's a deal!!! I just paid $160.00 per night two weeks ago and was glad to have even got a room. Sorry it's not like the rest of the country at lower rates. I promise it will be fun and you will be glad you came. I'll be sad if you don't come see the hillbilly hot rods.

Townsend isn't a big town and motel rooms are scarce, also, it't going to be tourist season for them. There are numerous places renting cabins in the area but they aren't cheap. If you don't mind driving, Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge and Maryville are each about 20 miles away, and hotels abound. Speaking of tourists, Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge will be full of them.

Will there be a cruise to the Tail of the Dragon? How far is it from the hotels?

Re: 2020 NATS hotels
as far as the prices at the hotels, that seems to be a normal practice now all over. we just have to get use to it, i'll let you know now, that its that way here also, some times i have gotten them to average all the days together and just say its one price, but a lot of them wont. so they give you one rate for during the week, mon-thur, then frid, sat, (sometimes sun i think) it goes up. we do get reduced rates because we are a large group, but they still have 2 rates. hope to see everyone in miss for crawfish and cruisin, gonna be great rides, awesome food and lot of fun.
