Hi all,

Thanks for having me aboard! I just took possession of my T-Bucket (a 1921). Looking forward to interacting with ya'll, and hopefully meeting some of you at events.

Welcome aboard and thanks for posting a picture of your new ride. It looks awesome! Any more info about it? How did you find it? Love to know details about engine, transmission, etc.

Thanks! She's got a SBC 350 engine with a Weiand manifold and dual Holley 4 bbl carbs, and a TH400 transmission. Ford 9" rear axle. I found it on the Gateway Classic Cars (Scottsdale AZ page) website. Had it trucked over to me. 35k miles on it, and the engine and tranny were both recently rebuilt. The only problem is, it doesn't start... doesn't even try. The battery is good. I think the wiring is screwy, so My step-grandson and I will start from scratch and rewire the whole thing. I should be getting the new harness, ignition, etc, etc, from Speedway Motors today. With a little luck, we'll have it running in time for this weekend (is that too ambitious???)

My advice: before you tear into the wiring, try some easy stuff first. Hopefully your helper has some electronic background. Please keep us posted, and if we can help, send up a flare!

Will do, thanks. My step-grandson is a young ASE certified auto mechanic. The current wiring is basically a nightmare. There's red wires going to ground, black wires going to battery-positive, speaker wires tied in with starter wires, etc, etc.Stay tuned, lol.

Well, that was relatively painless... We changed out the ignition switch (rewiring it correctly), and got a new battery for her, and presto, she fired right up! Took her for a blast down the street (much to the chagrin of the neighbors, I'm sure!), then came back and let the step-grandson do the same. We both had a case of foolish grinnery going on. Still have no headlights, but that's another day. The shifter has no detents between reverse, neutral, and drive. I have a Hurst Pro-matic 2 ratchet shifter that I'll install soon. The steering has some play, but not sure yet whether it's the steering gearbox or if it's at the wheels.

Wahoo!!! Great to hear. That silly grin you speak of will take awhile to disappear. I still get one when I go for a cruise in my bucket . . .
