Question for those that have a 2 piece windshield frame and a soft top. Has anyone had trouble keeping glass in this situation? I have 2 windshields break on opposite sides at the seam, first time drivers side so I had the hinges welded so their were solid, second time was today passenger side. Have support rods from hinge middle bolt to in front of radiator. Seems like this problem started when I put the top on last fall. I'm wondering if I need to change the support rods to attach at the top of windshield thinking maybe top is pulling on top of frame enough to stress glass into breaking?
Any ideas would be appreciated!!

Doesn't look like you got a lot of answers.

My 2 cents: I think that with the one piece glass you need to raise the support rods to the top to counteract the force of the top pulling back on the windshield frame. Originally, with the two-piece windshields this was not an issue since the "joint" between the glass panes allowed flexibility.

Well I never had a two pieces windshield so I can only say that the top is the problem with the two pieces, I always have the braces at the top of the windshield so I am no help ...........
