Big Bill,

This thread wasn't started as a means of me venting or bad mouthing the NTBA membership but rather an acknowledgement of me not being able to fit in. I've been very careful in my wording so that impression isn't given but looks like I failed again with your comment. I'm sorry, it sure wasn't my intention Big Bill.

Bill,

It is just the numbers. I would guess out of any group, for each person willing to voice their opinion about me through a PM, public post, in person, or action against my car, there is probably 10 that feel the same way but keep it to themselves. I sure don't want my membership to the NTBA to cost the organization many memberships as pointed out to me. In the week of the Nats and this week, there has been 7 folks that have voiced their negative opinions to me in one of the above actions. Using my 10 to 1 math, that would assume another 70 folks feel the same way but are staying quiet. This reinforces one member's claim that many members have dropped out of the NTBA because of me. When I bought my Track-T from the original builder I was on the fence about a T or a GT-40 replica. The Ts were about 1/10 the cost but I'm still active on the GT-40 forum. I've had no clashes on that forum and their events lean towards track events vs show and shine, so for me it appears to be a better fit. I also was looking at Cobra replicas and am still active on their forums. They too have many track events. The members of both of these groups have many other interests in common with me that I don't have in the bucket community.

Bob, If I'm reading this correctly, I would say that you are leaving NTBA. I haven't agreed with some of the things that you have brought forward, but your photo efforts have been above all. In a organization like this, you can't agree with everyone or everyone will agree with you. In my lifetime, like you, I have done many activities along the same things that you have, but keep them to myself. For a short time member you have come on very strong and I think this may have offended some here on the NTBA. Anyway, give it more thought and I hope that you will still be around in the future. :D

Harry, if we share some common interests, please elaborate. I don't expect to be everyone's cup of tea, or even a substantial percentage, but I'll take a small percentage at this point. After having good conversations with Tim and Kevin at the Nats I was feeling rather positive, but the attacks from others kept coming, added to that the sticker incident and I returned to the feelings that I was just spinning my wheels in this group. (no pun intended, as I generally do not spin my wheels in the T)

I do salute you for having the good sense not to delve into other interests in this forum, but in this case there is a request, so respond in a manner that you would feel comfortable.

Bob, Please Bob if your addressing NTBA members take it to the MOBBS site. This is not criticism so don't see it as such. I am sure the members would appreciate the effort.

Wow, and folks think I'm brazen, I do believe you just took that title away from me. But since your here, after your initial attack on me in a public forum, that I asked "Why?", you told me to take it to MOBBS, which after finding out what and where MOBBS was I showed up and you still refused to explain your attack. Now your on this thread asking nicely (with a please no less) for me to do the same thing. I won't quote ex-president Bush (because he quoted it wrong) but fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me.

Itlfly, would you like this opportunity to explain your initial, unprovoked attack on me in the public forum here? http://nationaltbucketalliance.com/bb/v ... 0&start=10

Bob I hope you stay on with us as you know you can't please everyone. I for one have enjoyed your post so please keep them coming. As far has I know you have posted more than anyone I know of on this sight or any sight you've been on. Just my two cents worth. Just think about it.

Jesse,

No issues with me continuing to post, as I feel participation in a forum is what keeps it alive. I can handle the attacks on the forum but it is a different matter at events. The forum, I can do in between caring for my dad, whereas a week long event I need to hire a live-in nurse, combined with the expense of attending the event. If it is true that others have dropped out of the NTBA because I'm a member, then it really isn't fair to the other members and I will let my membership laspe and not go to NTBA events. A large organization has better clout at venues than a smaller group as Gilbert has found out. Fallon was too small for out Nats, Reno too large, but Carson City was just right, plus they have a solid history of successful car related events. With our numbers at the Gold Dust West, they saw a spike in revenue in just room rentals of over $50K, not to mention meals and gambling.

I started this thread to determine if the 2013 Nats was my last NTBA event or next year's mini-nats put on by Cecil in Washington State. As I said earlier, if my attending the Washington State event has a negative impact on that event's overall attendance, then this year's Nats would be it for me. Cecil is a good guy, don't want his efforts to be tarnished.

Bob, I should have done this days ago, I was way out of line when I wrote your being allowed to drive your Dads car. I meant that as a weak joke but I CAN see the hurt I caused. However I don't argue as you coming off as a braggart, to me anyway. As for this hurting NTBA membership it is the reason I asked it to be taken to the MOBBS. However you insist to post on the open forum. I hope this closes the matter and we both move on to t-bucket matters.

1 out of 7 has ventured forward to clear up a misunderstanding, and I thank you for that Roger. I accept your personal observation of me being a braggart.

DeckOffocer. There is NOT ONE member I would not welcome in Yakima. I have a personal liking for your car and for you. I believe your computer skills could benefit the NTBA immensely. You are different, Bob, just different. Nuttin' wrong with that. I'm not exactly in the NTBA nucleus either, but generally speaking this is a fine group of people, very willing and capable. While I was not pressed into duty as much as I would have wanted, I felt very welcome. You too, Bob, are VERY welcome. Today and every day.
