I don't know if I posted here before, but I'm here, back, whatever. Don't have much time, and a severe lack of cash, but I'm working on my old hot rod anyways. Gotta look by the hand cramps, and the brace on my right knee. I've pretty much fallen apart since the bucket was 1st built.

We got some good news today they are going to remove the Fixator/halo off of Diana's leg next week. Then since she hasn't walked for 18 months the doctor says the hard part will start, learning to walk again. Since she has to learn to walk again I guess that means she is going through her second childhood . But maybe I can see some traveling in the distant future. I hope this summer but if not, we should be set in 15 if all goes well. We would like to thank all of you for your prayers and cards.

I'm still here guys. Sorry I haven't posted but, I do check in just about every day. I got started on the Carson City Ode but, ran out of time. If you saw me at CC you might have noticed that I was dragging my R. leg quite a bit.

Long story made short, I went to a neurosurgeon that was recommended by my doctor. After MRI's/X-rays it was determined that I had severe stenosis in the cervical and lumbar areas of my spine.

My cervical surgery was done on July 29th followed by rehab which started about 6 weeks later. Next came the lumbar surgery which was done on November 20th. My doctor told me that I would have an eight in scar & a whole lot more pain as compared to the cervical surgery; he was correct. After 3 days in post op. I was sent downstairs to the rehab unit where I stayed for 2 1/2 weeks. They had to teach me how to walk again using a walker at first; how to get in & out of bed which sounds silly, but it isn't, etc. I was discharged on December 11th. & had 'home care' coming in each week until I finished w/that 2 weeks ago. I have my evaluation on Thursday to begin outpatient rehab in Marble Falls for my back/leg & resume where we left off on my shoulder.

I've got a goal to shoot for & that is Branson but, I've got a lot of work to do to get my body back to the point that I can sit in the T w/the pups. I'm determined to make it. John

Come on John we are all pulling for you to make Branson but even if you miss that get well soon.......I am sorry to hear how much trouble you have been having, but in Carson City I knew you were having lots of trouble. I bet you will acting like your 20 years old soon, At least that is what I am hoping..........Good Luck and do what them Doctors say.........

Wow, T-Pilot . . . when we speak of "tear-downs" most of us just think of our cars! Sounds like you've had an extensive "re-build" and glad to hear the end is in sight. Hope the "wobble" and "shimmy" are soon gone from your chassis, and you're cruisin' on down the highway of life!

My sister-in-law, Carrie, took care of the pups while I was in St. David's North Austin. Thanks for asking. I can never repay her for what she did. My neighbor, Charles, usually picked me up & brought me back from the different hospital stays I had; I did the same for him with his foot surgeries. He said that the pups would look very closely at his truck each day when drove by, expecting me to brought back. And, yes we had a great reunion when Carrie brought me back finally. John

Do what the Dr's tell ya. Rehab is the hard part but very important to get back on your feet. Good luck to you.
