Puppy Ear Protection

As we all know our T-Buckets can be a little loud... okay, a LOT LOUD!!! And we like them that way. Well, I have a question for all of the dog owners out there... Is there something you can use to protect your puppy's ears? I have a "toy" dog (as Ted always said "if it fits in a microwave, it's not a dog" LOL), he is 7-8 pounds (fully grown) and I would love to take him in the bucket, but I am worried about what it will do to his ears. Any suggestions?

Jan we have a Boston Terrier and she thinks the bucket is hers and does not seem to have a problem with the noise at all.......She has been riding in the bucket since she was 9 weeks old.......SO load her up and she will have FUN right along with you.......

Thanks Mike, I was worried the noise level would hurt his hearing. I know I have used ear plugs (especially on longer trips) myself to protect my ears, so I thought I should do something for his as well.

I have no doubt he is going to love the bucket... the ultimate head out the window of the car. LOL

Jan, I've been concerned about this very subject for years w/my pups. I started using ear plugs when I got my motorcycle in '73 which was 2 years before I bought my T. When I began to drive my T on long trips I started using ear plugs there also. I'm not sure that Ginger was not affected the last 4 or 5 years of her life (she lived to be 16). And I think the wind noise is just as bad as the sound of our exhaust pipes. The wind noise was the reason I started wearing ear plugs when doing my motorcycle tours & I wore a full face helmet.

I've tried to come up w/something the last couple of years using various upholstery foams, forming them in to cone shapes for my pups ears. But, they shake them out when I put them in. I'll keep trying & if I ever come up w/something that works, I'll post pics & tell what material I used. John

kathy and I have been taking our dog Meeka a 16# yorkie poodle mix everywhere with us and have not had a problem, she just lays down and goes to sleep. I'm sure if the noise bothers her she would make it known. No she won't fit in a microwave.
