Need some T-history lessons please!

Hey everyone, Rabbott here. I am working on compiling T-Bucket information and could use some help. I currently am in search of custom t-bucket bodies. Not to say actual T-bodies but maybe some crazy 60's-70's bodies that fit T-bucket frames. I thought that I would be able to find some manufacture that made an alternative body but have come up with nothing. I am thinking along the lines of Roth or kit car stuff. Any help would be much appreciated

In the 60's, the manufacture of fiberglass T bodies exploded. It dwindled back down to nothing within 10 years. There are still guys making bodies. Spirit Industries makes several versions, Speedway sells several versions, Ron Pope makes some. I just did a search and Corbin makes a modified body. Wintech makes a "more than a bucket, but less than a tub" body, which Mike Wade (YeloT) has just put on his car in this winter's rebuild. You can see some photos of it in the March issue of our newsletter.

Thanks for the quick reply, I will check those out! Have you seen any really unique bodies maybe modled off Roth cars or concept cars? Really triing to find those on T chassis.

Yeah thats what I am after. That is cool. Do you think there would be a market for aftermarket custom bodies like that? I wonder what one would cost?

The molds for Dan Woods' "Ice Tee" have allegedly just come to light in Washington state. The builder of the "Leg Show" T has a facebook page, but I doubt he's interested in making any copies. Keep in mind Ed Roth built the forms for his own cars out of plaster of Paris, and I'm sure it's still possible to do that.

I, for one, think it's the body that makes a T-Bucket a T-Bucket and not the chassis.
